Top Tips for Great Events

The best events unite and motivate people; to ensure yours does this read on....

Unsuccessful events can be met with groans and raised eyebrows and the worst ones can make people feel awkward or bored. To ensure yours is the most refreshing, rewarding and entertaining event possible, work through our Top Tips first.

Tip 1: Pinpoint the purpose of your event
What you, and we, really need to know, is the main objective of your event. To help determine what sorts of activities will best suit your group, make sure you give us as detailed a brief as possible, or, if it's your initiative, let us know, for example, if it's a teambuilding event because you have recently hired or acquired new staff, or the company is taking a new direction, or the company is under new management.

Tip 2: Get Key People Signed Up
Identify at the outset which people must be there, then find a few dates that they can definitely attend, and book them in their diary.   Then get those few dates circulated with a deadline by which everybody should get back to you.

Tip 3: Give us Your Outline Brief as Early as You Can
Get a general idea of what the people funding the event want to achieve, roughly how many people are likely to attend and preferred travelling distance to the venue.  Learn from previous events. Try and gauge the tastes of the attendees.  You may not be able to ask everyone, but aim to get a general idea of what people find appealing.  Also let us know of any physical restrictions that could influence your activity choice, such as fitness levels, disabilities and pregnancies.  Though many men and women like similar things, there are activities that will be hits with the lads yet leave the ladies yawning, and vice versa. If you give us an idea of the all important male to female ratio we can give you great options that we know will go down a treat.

Tip 4: What facilities do you need?
You will also need to have an idea of what type of facilities you will need to accomodate your event. A Boardroom for a Directors meeting of eight, a conference room for 80 fully equipped, maybe both. If you are travelling a distance to the venue, using a coach to get everyone there. Also overnight accomodation may be needed together with an evening dinner and entertainment.

Tip 5: Book Now
Get the key people confirmed and book, book, book! This will ensure you get the widest range of choices in the greatest locations to achieve the most unique and successful event.  And that's what you want.
